12 Must-Try Mexican Restaurants in Denver
Why it’s a hit: Head to Troy Guard’s Mexican hot spot for plates of ambitious tacos (think lamb neck, octopus and rattlesnake-and-chorizo), lots of different salsas, loaded pig-ear nachos and a cleverly executed sweet potato hash with caramelized onions, toasted pepitas and fundido. In addition to Day of the Dead tiled murals, a colorful graffitied wall along the staircase and two bars, you’ll also find a rooftop patio overlooking the city skyline.
Must-order: Crispy pig-ear nachos; empanadas with antelope, venison, elk, wild boar and buffalo; and the lamb neck taco with hummus, grilled onions and tzatziki.
